What’s involved?
There are a broad range of volunteering roles available within Glasgow North West Citizens Advice Bureau, so you can use your knowledge, skills and experience where it matters most. From adviser roles to behind-the-scenes support, we’ll let you choose where you think you’ll make the greatest impact.
Adviser Training and Commitment
Our adviser training programme begins with several weeks of online learning, supported by a tutor in classroom-style sessions alongside other trainee volunteers from Citizens Advice Bureaux across Scotland.
After this initial stage, volunteers continue their learning in the bureau by shadowing experienced advisers and gradually building up their knowledge and confidence while completing the SQA accredited Adviser Training Programme.
To get the most from the training and to support the service effectively, we usually ask volunteers to commit to:
One full day per week in the bureau, or 8 hours per week
A longer-term commitment, with a minimum of 12 months
This commitment helps ensure volunteers have the time to complete the training and develop the skills needed to support clients effectively. Volunteering with Citizens Advice offers the opportunity to make a real difference in your community while also gaining valuable experience working in a professional advice setting.
